Our school is a happy secure place where effective teaching and learning takes place within a Catholic ethos.

Our School

St. Joseph’s N.S. is a Catholic co-educational primary school located in Fermoy, Co. Cork. Our Catholic Ethos promotes Christian values and we are committed to the holistic development of both pupils and staff. We endeavour to provide a happy, caring and safe environment where respect for both people and the environment is central, thus enabling the children to strive, with confidence, towards their full potential.

Our school endeavours to recognise, develop and appreciate the dignity and uniqueness of each child in an atmosphere that is conducive to learning.

We recognise and value the importance of co-operation among pupils, staff, parents and the Board of Management. We appreciate the value of the interrelationship between school and the wider community.

At St Joseph’s National School we aim to:

  • Provide an atmosphere that will encourage and foster learning by promoting self-actualisation and a positive self image, in a happy, safe and secure environment.

  • Promote Christian values

  • Promote the physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and moral well-being of each child.

  • Create an environment where the dignity and uniqueness and rights of each child is respected and appreciated. All children are welcome, regardless of race, creed or ability.

  • Promote environmental awareness, through an appreciation of history, culture, art and religion, and so instil a sense of pride of place.

  • Promote co-operation among pupils, staff, parents, Board of Management and the wider community.
